Class Reunion Committee Toolkit
Who should you invite to be on the committee?
Anyone who wants to join! Classmates, spouses of classmates, and friends of Geneva.
How big should the committee be?
Groups of three to seven work best. If there is a larger number, try to split into sub-committees that will coordinate efforts.
What is the time commitment?
Committee Meetings typically take three to five hours over the five months prior to Homecoming. These meetings take place with the Alumni Office and will last 30 to 60 minutes depending on the agenda.
Committee Member Volunteering Time will take 10 or more hours spread out over the five months prior to Homecoming. Members will spend time contecting with classmates and the amount of time spent depends greatly on the number of people contacted and the form of communication.
What do I have to do if I join a Class Reunion Committee?
The largest responsibility you will have is to connect with your classmates and encourage attendance! You will also communicate information on the class gift, decide on a luncheon menu (for milestone years), and potentially create social media communications for your reunion. You will also be asked to thank those who attended after the event and communicate the results of your class gift campaign.
